Evening all!
Unfortunately, because I have an awful lot to do, this is just going to be another of those stupidly short posts. Sorry!
To make up for it, here is some Imagine Dragons and Of Monsters and Men...
I've always been someone who listens to a lot of music, having grown up in a household with books, movies and CDs lining the walls from ceiling to floor. But recently I've been listening to music a lot more than usual. I find it helps me concentrate on what I'm doing, and, if I'm writing, helps me become more in-tune to the characters' feelings and emotions. Obviously, there are some pieces of music which suit different emotions, like violins (usually) suiting a sad scene. But, there are some pieces which work regardless of whether the character(s) are happy or sad, angry or defeated. The video below is of Ludovico Einaudi's I Giorni, and is a piece of music which, I believe, succeeds in making you feel many different emotions all at the same time.
Another piece of music which I've come to love recently is I Vow To Thee My Country. The BBC has been using Beck Goldsmith's cover of the song on the advert for The Village, which is where I realised just how beautiful the song actually is. Although there is a youtube video of the entire cover by Beck Goldsmith, unfortunately I can't upload it on here for some reason. So, instead here's the trailer that features the song...
I have to stop myself from going on the site in case I buy every thing...which has a definite possibility of occurring. It's just too darn good!
I mean, seriously. Just look at this.
That's the ENTIRE Alice in Wonderland book. ON A POSTER.
Seriously. What.
I swear my life is now complete.
I would just sit, staring at my walls all day, reading, if I had a poster like this.
There are a few other designs too, if anyone wants to check them out...
Only a couple of things left to say.
Firstly, I finally finished my stylized drawing of Tanith Low! Hallelujah! Praise be to...well, my Easter holiday, I suppose.
Here's the final piece - any positive/negative criticisms welcome!
And lastly, an update on the first chapter of my story.
I should have finished my first rough draft. And by that I mean excruciatingly rough, i.e. it will probably have millions of horrendous grammatical errors in it. But! I shall give you something to read at least!
Anyway, busy busy.
See you Wednesday!
