If anyone 'likes' the Skulduggery Pleasant facebook group, then you'll know that there is competition (ending today) to draw a Tanith Low themed book cover. Unfortunately I don't have any of my proper drawing or painting supplies with me, and had to do it in a rush, since I've been neck-deep in deadlines since yesterday - however! I was able to put together a picture which isn't half-bad. I know it won't win, because I've seen some fan work on deviant art that is just crazy-good, but I thought I might as well enter because it'd be fun to plan out what to include and how to draw it. So here's my entry...
The drawing is only a quarter of an A4 page in size because it was, originally, only mean to be a sketch for the lay out of the final piece. However, I ended up drawing the whole thing...in a 1/4 of A4...with a frickin' mechanical/propelling pencil (basically, a clicky pencil). So there's not a whole lot of detail, and I couldn't do any inking, but I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out.
Now... [SPOILER ALERT]
If you've read the series, you'll know that a Remnant takes over Tanith's body, which is what the black creature wrapped around her body is. Also, the face in the clouds is meant to represent the real Tanith looking on in horror at how Remnant-Tanith is acting.
Anyhoo, I just wanted to upload the picture, so hope you like it! Feel free to comment.
I'll probably put up some more pictures of my artwork after I've scanned them in - so you can look forward to something artistic actually being posted on The Blog once again!
Anyway, it's now 2am, so...
G'night!
O.O
ReplyDeleteFlora, you're amazing at drawing! My God!
